X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Well, the blockbuster movie season is officially open!

I had the day off and it was a gray and rainy afternoon, so after the gym I decided to go see X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Ever since they made the announcement regarding this flick, I feared that they were going to start milking the X-Men franchise after producing three great movies.

I was wrong! X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the absolute shit! It's nice that the industry has finally realized that superheroe movies for adults were now in order. A bit dark (the flavor of the day), this latest X-Men flick features non-stop action, lots of humor, and yeah a fight or three.

It's true, I'm seldom satisfied when I leave the movie theatre. But this one delivers on all fronts!

My favorite Wolverine line:

Colonel Stryker: "Logan, your country needs you."

Wolverine, snorting: "I'm Canadian."

Go see it! You probably won't be disappointed.:-)

This movie was abysmal, full of plots holes, and not adult in any way.

This movie really was shit.

Come on, they took Deadpool and basically flushed his roll down the toilet. This movie was a bigger turd then X3.

Full of plot holes if you're a comic fan, that is.

Problem is, they're not following the X-Men comic blueprint. The same goes for Batman, etc.

Entertainment value-wise, this movie was awesome. Saw it today and everyone in the theater loved it. Comic book readers might find a lot to bitch about, but casual fans are in for a very good ride!

They sewed shut Deadpool's mouth. Hes the Merc with the Mouth.
For fucks sake.

Saw it last night and thought it was very entertaining. I definitely thought it was way better than X3.

My son, a follower of the X-Men and Wolverine said he had some plot/character issues but enjoyed the movie anyway.

On a scale of 1-10 id give it a 6.5/maybe a 7. I thought it would be a little more darker, like the new batman movies.

Pretty weak overall. The plot was a moving target with contrived twists that weren't even remotely realistic. Wolverine's powers were ignored at times for convenience.

The special effects in some parts were absolutely laughable -- the claws in the bathroom, cutting through the fire escape with Gambit on it, CGI to make the character at the end of the movie look younger. The effects looked like something from 15 years ago.

The Deadpool character was horribly underused and made for a pitiful bad guy. The fight scenes were pretty good but they just couldn't make up for the other parts.

I thought you had said "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is absolute shit!", in which case I would have agreed with you.

I don't read the comics. So my expectations have been different to a comic fan. For me and my wife it was an entertaining movie.

I just saw it and my fiancee and I loved it as well. Some CGI was kinda "meh", but I'm not going to let that take away from the movie for me.

Adult? Yes. I had some parents at my showing who thought their kids would be fine - they weren't at all and that made for some frustrating times.

I'm not a big X-Men fan, but my favorite character was always Gambit so I was very happy to finally see him on the big screen.

One bad thing about the movie, which isn't really bad for this one but another, is that after seeing Sabertooth as he was in this film I think his character is killed for me in the first X-Men movie. If X-Men were made after this Sabertooth's character would have been much better utilized.

As for Deadpool's mouth being shut... Somebody didn't stay till the END of the credits.

I also loved the Deadpool fight.

Okay movie, 6.5/10.

Thankfully Star Trek XI and State Of Play are significantly better.

So there was something at the very end of the credits.

I agree it was shite.....a Hugh Jackman fest (not that I mind that) but low on plot too big on action, I couldn't follow the fight scenes at all......

There are two different end of credits scenes. One with Deadpool, one with Wolverine at a bar in Japan...
